Council Bios & Contact Information
The Council Chair serves as the official representative of the Council. Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership Role: Provides overall coordination to ensure effective Council operations.
- Signing Authority: Signs all ordinances, resolutions, and official correspondence on behalf of the Council.
- Representation: Communicates the Council’s position to the Mayor’s office and other stakeholders.
- Agenda Management: Oversees scheduling of items for Council meeting agendas.
The Vice-Chair acts as a backup to the Chair, assuming their duties whenever the Chair is unavailable.
The Past-Chair assumes duties of the Chair if the Chair and Vice-Chair are unavailable.
This leadership rotation was adopted in the July 8, 2025 City Council meeting and cycles every January 1 and July 1, respectively, with the official action being certified in the first possible council meeting thereafter.
