We will cover fire exit planning and procedures as well as appropriate time and use of a fire extinguisher. At this time, we ask that the requesting business supply enough extinguishers for their employees. We can cover any health safety topics applicable to the work environment. We can organize the training to cover either CPR or First Aid or both. That is why so many of our programs focus on the youth; and at the core is our fire and life safety school presentations. We have set a different focus for each grade level to help build upon safety knowledge and skills. Every lesson we create centralizes on state Core Curriculum standards in order to enhance their current learning environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kindergarten<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Kindergarteners learn about dangerous items in and outside of the home. We learn how to identify the danger and talk through what we should do about it. The primary focus is how to prevent it from happening again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1st Grade<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
First graders learn about smoke alarms and the importance of having them in the home. We discuss what the different sounds of a smoke alarm mean and where students should have smoke alarms installed in their homes. Students also practice how to exit a home safely in the event of a fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2nd Grade<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Second graders learn about the history and evolution of firefighting and firefighters\u2019 role in our city. They will also talk about how they can help the firefighters by learning how to identify an emergency and call 911.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n3rd Grade<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Fourth graders become Jr. EMT\u2019s as they learn about common illnesses and injuries and how to treat them. Students will experience the use of science topics in first aid, such as severe weather patterns and venomous indigenous wildlife. 5th Grade<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Fifth graders explore the natural disasters that can occur in different regions of the country while focusing on Utah. They will be given an opportunity to graph a fire escape plan for their families as well as decorate a bag they can use for their emergency preparedness materials.
