West Jordan Offers Multiple Options for Christmas Tree Disposal

After the holidays, West Jordan makes it easy for residents to responsibly dispose of real Christmas trees. From Monday, December 29 through Friday, January 30, residents may choose between convenient drop-off locations or curbside pickup options.

Important: Only natural Christmas trees are accepted. Trees must be completely free of decorations, including ornaments, lights, tinsel, stands, and flocking.


Christmas Tree Drop-Off Locations (Available All Month)

Residents who prefer to drop off their trees can use any of the following locations throughout the entire disposal period, Residents can drop off trees at any of the following locations throughout the disposal period:

  • County Pool / Gene Fullmer Recreation Center – Parking Lot, 8125 S. 2200 W.
  • Constitution Park – Parking Lot, Southeast corner of 3285 W. 7000 S.
  • West Jordan Soccer Complex – South Parking Lot (west side), 4000 W. 8070 S.

Each site has a 30-yard dumpster managed by Ace Disposal. Only Christmas trees can be dropped off—no other garbage is allowed.

Curbside Christmas Tree Pickup Options

January 5 – January 16

  • Trees may be left curbside with your regular garbage cans.
  • Garbage and trees are picked up at separate times by different trucks.
  • Trees over 10 feet must be cut in half; smaller trees may remain whole.
  • Trees are manually loaded into rear-load collection trucks.

January 19 – January 30

  • Trees can be left curbside with your regular garbage cans.
  • Trees 5–6 feet or taller must be cut in half for safe handling.
  • The garbage truck driver will empty your garbage can, then load the tree into the truck. Trees over 5–6 feet may fall if not cut in half.
  • Smaller trees that fit inside the garbage can may remain whole.

Missed Pickup or Questions?

If your Christmas tree is missed during curbside pickup, it will be collected on your next week’s garbage day (unlike missed garbage cans, which are normally picked up within 1–2 days).
