A Strong Start to Water Conservation… Thanks to You!

Over the past 10 days, our community has shown what thoughtful water use can accomplish. Daily water demand has consistently stayed below last year’s levels, and on four of those days, it even dipped below the 5‑year average.

Across the valley, individuals, families, businesses, and our neighboring cities are making smart water choices day after day. Small actions such as adjusting irrigation, fixing leaks quickly, watering only when needed, are adding up in a big way. Your efforts are helping stretch our water supply at a time when every drop matters.

A line chart titled “Average Daily Water Demand — Last 10 days (April 21–30).” The vertical axis shows million gallons per day ranging from 0 to 120. The horizontal axis is labeled “Days.” Three lines are shown:
• A blue line for “This year,” which starts around the mid‑70s range, gradually trends downward to around 60, then rises slightly near the end.
• A green line for “Last year,” which stays higher throughout, beginning around the mid‑70s, gradually rising to just over 100 by the final day.
• A gray dashed line representing the “5‑year average,” which stays steady around the mid‑70s to low‑80s.
The chart illustrates that water use this year has remained below both last year’s levels and the 5‑year average on several days.

The chart above shows exactly what this progress looks like: compared to the same period last year, water demand has trended lower throughout April 21–30. And when we outperform our 5‑year average, even for a few days, it’s a clear sign that our community’s conservation mindset is taking hold.

We’re off to a strong start, but continued momentum is key. Every week we stay below these benchmarks helps strengthen our long‑term water reliability.

Let’s keep it going!
