West Jordan is now accepting applications to participate in the 2026/2027 West Jordan Youth Council!

This program, sponsored by the City of West Jordan and the West Jordan City Council, will focus on providing high school students within the city opportunities to become civically engaged within their community while learning leadership skills. Our desire is that this program will inspire future generations to become elected officials or volunteers in their future places of residence.

The Youth Council program will be comprised of up to 20 high school students, grades 9-12 who are residents of the city.  The Youth Council will elect a Chair, a vice-chair and a couple of Youth Council Recorders to take minutes of meetings.

Committees include Social Media and Communications Committee and a Service Committee.

In January, the Youth Council will attend a Local Officials Day at the Utah State Capitol.  The Youth Council will see various aspects of the services the city provides on a daily basis.  Sign up today!
