These checks are a helpful extra layer of security, but they don\u2019t replace steps you should take to protect your home, like locking doors, using light timers, and pausing mail.&nbsp;<br><br>Requests are valid for up to 30 days. The requested patrol does not replace your obligation to take all available actions to protect your property including, but not limited to, securing doors and windows, maintaining lights on timers, and pausing mail\/package\/newspaper services. The WJPD will continue the requested patrol for a maximum of 30 days unless the WJPD determines in its sole discretion that extenuating circumstances require a longer period of time. If you return earlier than expected, please notify the WJPD as soon as possible so that it can discontinue the requested patrol.<br><br>In making this request, you agree to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of West Jordan (\u201cCity\u201d) and the WJPD and its officers, employees, and agents from and against all claims, liabilities, actions, causes of action, suits, demands, warranties, rights, losses, damages, punitive damages, costs, expenses, and compensation of any kind and nature whatsoever, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, and whether based on tort, strict liability, warranty, contract, statute, common law, or other theory which you have or which it may hereafter accrue on account of, resulting from, or in any way related to the requested patrol.<br><br>Nothing herein shall be construed as a waiver of any immunity or defense available to the City or the WJPD under Utah\u2019s Governmental Immunity Act, Utah Code \u00a7\u00a7 63G-7-101,&nbsp;<em>et seq<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"grey-txt has-small-font-size\">Privacy Notice: The personal data being collected is included in a public record as defined under Utah Code 63G-2-301 and may be available to the public as provided in Utah Code 63G-2-201.
