Local Artist Spotlight

The City of West Jordan and Adobe, a computer software company, have something in common – both feature art from local artist, Julie Fesko Penman. As a full-time mixed media and epoxy resin artist, Fesko Penman describes her style as a reflection of her truest self.

“It can be somewhat loud and full of color, or it can be soft and muted.” Stated Fesko Penman.

Her art has been featured around the United States in airports and business buildings. For the past month her creations have been hanging in West Jordan’s Schorr Gallery. Fesko Penman debuted her current art style in 2016 at a juried art group show at the National Adobe building in Lehi, Utah. After the showing, Adobe bought her entry, and it is now on permanent display in the building.

“My work is created spontaneously using my intuition and unconventional art techniques,” said Fesko Penman. “With inspiration coming from nature, the ocean, architecture, light, and functional art design.”

Fesko Penman’s art draws you in with its 3D texture and presents new detail with every blink.

A new artist is featured every month in the Schorr Gallery at West Jordan City Hall (8000 S. Redwood Rd) 8 AM – 5 PM.
