West Jordan Police Department Offers Free Gun Locks to Residents

Two weeks ago, a six-year-old shot a Virginia teacher with his mother’s gun – a story that made headlines across the United States. The West Jordan Police Department is striving to keep your community safe and stop tragedies before they may happen.

The department is giving away free cable-style gunlocks to residents on the first floor of the West Jordan Police Department (8040 S. Redwood Road).

A Journal of the American Medical Association study found that households that locked both their firearms and ammunition reduced unintentional firearm injuries among children by 85%.
