Let’s Talk Some Trash!

Get ready for West Jordan’s final Dumpster event of the year happening on Saturday, October 7th! This is your chance to get rid of any unwanted stuff or trash that you’d normally send to the landfill, and the best part is, it’s free!

Here’s what you need to know about the Dumpster Event:

On Saturday, October 7th, you can drop off your green waste and general waste items at the Public Works Maintenance yard located at 7960 South 4000 West. We’ll be there from 7 AM to 3 PM to help you with traffic flow and provide dumping instructions. This event is operating rain or shine. Just remember to bring some proof that you live in West Jordan or work for the city, like your driver’s license, utility bill, or city ID badge.

What You Can Bring:

  • Building materials
  • Household items
  • Some appliances (but make sure to take out the Freon first)
  • Furniture
  • Yard waste (like tree branches, shrubs, and grass clippings)

What You Can’t Bring:
Unfortunately, we can’t accept certain items, such as:

  • Sod, dirt, or rocks
  • Treated wood
  • Construction debris
  • Lithium-ion batteries
  • Anything with Freon
  • Mattresses
  • Concrete
  • Tires

If you have questions about disposing of hazardous household waste, please contact Trans-Jordan Landfill at
801-569-8994.
