Council Vacancy in West Jordan’s Second District

The City of West Jordan is announcing a vacancy in its second council district. The current Council Member, Melissa Worthen, has moved prior to the end of her term, which runs through December 2023.

The City is actively seeking an eligible and dedicated individual residing within the boundaries of this district, to complete the remainder of the term. The selected individual will be responsible for attending two crucial meetings scheduled for December 2023.

“This is a unique opportunity for engaged residents of West Jordan’s second council district to contribute to their community and play an active role in local government,” said Council Office Director Alan Anderson. “If you have a passion for public service and meet the residency requirements, we encourage you to apply.”

Interested residents who meet the eligibility requirements are invited to apply for this important role. Applications can be submitted in person at the City Recorder’s office, located at 8523 South Redwood Rd, during regular business hours.

Application Deadline: All applications must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, November 17.

Selection Process: The City Council will conduct interviews with qualified applicants on Wednesday, November 29, starting at 6 p.m. Following the interviews, the City Council will decide on who will fill the Council Member position until a newly elected council member is sworn into office on Wednesday, January 3.
