Boost Your Skateboard Skills at Ron Wood Park Skate Clinic: Dropping Summer 2025!

In 2024, West Jordan Ron Wood Park officially opened its own skate park, and it’s been buzzing since. If you’re nervous about starting or just want to improve, we have just the thing for you. Spock and his hand-picked instructors will be teaching skateboard classes for kids from age 6-16, for beginners to seasoned riders.
“Bring whatever you got, or whatever you don’t have. We’re here for you,” said Spock.
Spock is a life-time skateboarder. He started as a teenager in the San Francisco Bay area, skating “24 hours a day.” He skated sponsored and was featured in Thrasher magazine. In 2003, he started teaching community classes in Cottonwood Heights. He’s been hooked ever since, and has spread his skate camp across the valley. “I love sharing the passion with all different kinds of people,” said Spock.
What will you get from the camp?
- For beginners: Start from square one – learn to balance on a skateboard.
- For intermediates: Learn new tips and tricks.
- Make new friends.
- Grow self-esteem and confidence.
- Learn perseverance.
Why skateboard?
Spock says…
- For motivation to get through hard times. Skating isn’t easy. You take some falls–you gotta keep moving.
- To gain a growth mindset, by turning challenges into chances to rise up.
- To find your “flow” — that zone when you feel totally at home.
- It’s a chance to learn personal skills with support and encouragement.
- Come for the passion!
