Places Everyone! The House is Almost Open
We’re about to raise the curtain on the new West Jordan Community and Arts Center.
It’s been 16 months since groundbreaking, and we’re just about ready for the public. Let’s take a sneak peek:

The Building
The new theater space is a “black box” with 213+ retractable seats, a rear projector and screen, and an AV booth to control lighting and sound. Backstage is generous dressing and green rooms, and ample storage space.
The lobby includes a box-office, and entrance to two community rooms.
Versatile Space
The two community rooms can be joined into one for larger functions, and are equipped with tables, chairs, projectors and blackout curtains. This space is available to rent for corporate dinners, receptions, recitals, family reunions and more.
The theatre seats can be pushed all the way back to the wall, leaving a large open space, or pulled out to 5 rows, 8 rows, or the full 11.
The lobby, while a useful gathering space before productions and a place to buy tickets and use the restroom, also doubles as an art gallery. The wall dividing the theatre and the lobby is equipped with specialized hardware designed specifically for displaying art.
Immersive Experience
A “black box” is exactly what it sounds like—a room painted floor to ceiling black. The uniform color creates a blank canvas that allows the stage and audience to put their lives on pause and be fully immersed in the action. The performance space is also smaller than traditional stage theaters, which limits the number of props and set pieces. The minimalist setup draws focus to the actors’ portrayal and enhances the audiences’ connection to the story.
