The Big Hair, Big Rides, and Bigger Crowds of the ’80s Stampede

Just like the big hair and bold style of the decade, we held some of our biggest events in the 1980s–A four-day carnival, three parades, a magic circus, country sing-along, an arts and crafts show, 5,000 ping pong balls drop with a high chance of prizes, helicopter rides, a Cub Scout pinewood derby, square dancing, mountain man activities…you name it, we did it.

Take a look at these full-page newspaper schedules to see how our friends, families, and neighbors celebrated!
