West Jordan Community and Arts Center

The Community & Arts Center is West Jordan’s hub for arts, culture, and community events. The 12,700-square-foot facility includes a flexible black box theater, rentable multipurpose rooms, an art gallery-style lobby, and a variety of amenities designed for public use, from performances and classes to private parties and business events. 

The facility is located at the historic Sugar Factory site in West Jordan, Utah. (8105 S 2200 W, West Jordan)

Any individual, nonprofit, or business can reserve the Community & Arts Center. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance.

Reservations must be made at least 14 days in advance of your event. 

• Morning Block: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM 
• Evening Block: 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM 
• Full Day: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM 
• Note: Rentals are not available on City holidays.

Partial-day rates are available:
– Morning: 60% of full-day rate
– Evening: 75% of full-day rate
A refundable security deposit of $750 is required for all rentals.

• Alcohol Fee: $100 + $250 refundable deposit (City-contracted bartender required) 
• Projector & Screen Rental: $50/day 
• Advanced A/V Use: Contact the Center for pricing 
• Event Insurance: Required for alcohol service 

• Exclusive use of reserved space(s) 
• 1 wired microphone (basic A/V) 
• Use of lobby (included with most rentals) 
• Tables, chairs, projectors, blackout curtains (for community rooms) 

Outside A/V and lighting equipment is not permitted. Advanced in-house A/V is available—please contact us for details.

The facility includes a catering room with a fridge/freezer, sink, and prep table.

• Catered/home-prepared food is allowed 
• Alcohol may be served with appropriate permits and City-approved bartender 
• Only pre-packaged, sealed concession items allowed 
• No popcorn is permitted 

You may bring props, backdrops, and décor items with prior approval.
– No glitter, nails, tacks, or unapproved adhesives 
– Decorations must not damage walls or surfaces 

Setup and takedown must occur within your reserved rental window. Overnight storage is not permitted.

A “black box” theater is a versatile, minimalist performance space painted entirely black to allow for full creative immersion. It features: 
– Flexible configurations for plays, rehearsals, and performances 
– Up to 213 retractable seats, plus space for 35 more 
– Lighting and sound controlled from a dedicated AV booth

• Standard Rate: $8,000 

Yes, general liability insurance is required for most events. Events with alcohol must carry special coverage.

A $750 refundable deposit is held and returned if the facility is left in good condition and all policies are followed.
