Now Accepting Candidates for City Council
Would you like to represent West Jordan on the City Council? Here’s your chance! There are three seats up for election this year. All three seats are at-large, which means you would represent the city as a whole, and don’t need to live in a specific district area to run.
If you want to run for one of these council seats, you must register at West Jordan City Hall, 8000 S. Redwood Rd. between June 2 and 6, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m..
Eligibility
- Be a registered voter in West Jordan City
- Resident for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding Election Day
- Meet constitutional & statutory requirements (Utah Code §10‑3‑301)
- No disqualifying felony convictions (Utah Code §20A‑2‑101.5)
How to File
- Fill out and complete the Declaration of Candidacy form
- Submit Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure
- Pay the $50 filing fee – (Affidavit of Impecuniosity available)
*If you are outside Utah for the entire filing period, you may authorize a single agent and complete filing over live video per Utah Code §20A‑9‑203.
After You File
- Candidate names will be posted on the City website within three business days.
- Campaign Finance reports due (schedule provided in the packet you receive after registration).

- Affidavit of Candidacy Withdrawal form (optional)
- View the 2025 Candidate Guide.
- Candidates will send me a 100 word bio and 60 second video. Due to City Recorder by July 1, 2025.
