What’s New in West Jordan Parks

Your local parks are getting new spaces and amenities!
Disc Golf
Thanks to a Utah Outdoor Recreation grant, we put in a new disc golf course, complete with 18 holes and three beginner holes at Sycamore Ridge Park. This wild area sits next to the Oquirrh mountains and already has dirt and paved trails. This park opened August 11, and ready for play!
Mini Pitch
We have some existing concrete pads in Veterans Memorial Park (1985 W. 7800 S.) that aren’t getting much use, so we’re trying something new! A mini pitch is a small soccer field meant to hold 3 on 3 or 5 on 5 games. Because they are concrete and in a well-lit area they can be used all year long, and after-dark. Look for updates about our 2026 reveal.
Cemetery Software
Soon it will be much easier to find graves in the West Jordan Cemetery (7925 S 1300 W.). In the near future we’ll launch an app that works just like a maps app that will show you where a grave is located and even give you a walking path to follow. Release date TDB.
More Grass Fields
New multipurpose fields are coming to Ron Wood Park (5900 New Bingham Hwy.). They join the existing fields to give you even more room to play. They will be available to rent for soccer, football, or any sporting event you can think of. Or, just come and run and play any time! Right now we’re aiming for a spring 2027 opening. Stay tuned for updates.
