Project Overview
The City of West Jordan will be replacing aging water lines in several neighborhoods as part of ongoing efforts to improve water reliability and reduce future breaks. These upgrades replace water lines originally installed in the 1960s that are now undersized and have experienced multiple breaks in recent years.
Projects included:
- Sunburst Drive (1320 W – 1370 W)
- Rundquist Drive (1520 W – 1655 W)
- Schulsen Lane (Gardner Lane to 8400 South)
Construction Schedule
- Anticipated Start date: March 2, 2026 through late summer 2026.
- Work hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- Project duration: Construction is expected to last about four months.
Only one street will be under construction at a time to minimize neighborhood impacts. Work will proceed in the following order:
- Sunburst Drive
- Rundquist Drive
- Schulsen Lane
Driveway & Access Information
- Residents will be able to access their driveways throughout construction.
- If a driveway needs to be temporarily blocked, the contractor will provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
- No trenches will be left open overnight, and driveways will not remain blocked after the workday unless an unexpected issue occurs.
What to Expect During Construction
Residents may experience:
- Construction noise during work hours
- Temporary traffic delays or lane closures
- Construction equipment and crews in the area
