Applicant shall adhere to the following standards for temporary signs as set forth in the West Jordan Sign Ordinance Code Sections 12-2-5, 12-3-2, and 12-3-3.

  1. Allowed for 14 consecutive days per calendar quarter and no longer than 30 days during a grand opening.
  2. Sign shall not exceed 25 feet in height and shall be placed upon, and shall be securely tethered to, the ground.
  3. At no time should it be located within a public right-of-way or into the airspace above the public right-of-way and shall be located so as not to constitute a hazard.
  4. Flammable gases shall not be utilized for inflated signs. Any sign constituting a hazard shall be immediately removed.
  5. One sign per commercial complex or one for each business not located in a commercial complex.
  6. Inflated signs shall be 200 feet from any other freestanding sign.
  1. Allowed for 30 consecutive days not more than four times a year or no longer than 60 consecutive days within the first year of business for a grand opening. There must be a two week break between postings.
  2. Banners shall be securely attached to the building façade.
  3. The total area of a banner attached to the building may not exceed 40 square feet (example: 5 feet by 8 feet).
  4. Only one banner per business plus one additional banner for a business located in a building having a front face of 150 linear feet or more.
  5. One additional freestanding sign may be located on-site with a total area of 24 square feet, shall be 25 feet from any other freestanding sign and shall be securely attached to the ground. Freestanding temporary signs shall not exceed 6 feet in height and shall be set back 18″ from the property line. (A TO-SCALE SITE PLAN DRAWING IS REQUIRED TO SHOW THAT FREESTANDING SIGN PLACEMENT IS AT LEAST 25′ FROM OTHER FREESTANDING SIGNS)
  6. Signs shall not be located in the public right-of-way or attached to anything in the public right-of-way.
  7. Searchlights shall be located a minimum of 50-feet from the edge of any street pavement, shall be directed upward at an angle of at least 45 degrees and shall be operated only between dusk and 11:59 p.m.

Certification is hereby rendered that no signage will be displayed prior to gaining a temporary permit, and that all signage displayed after approval will comply with the West Jordan Municipal Code. I acknowledge that a violation of any ordinance may result in the revocation of my temporary sign permit, a citation, and/or fines.
