Mayor’s Message – August 2026

West Jordan stretches from the Oquirrh Mountains to the Jordan River. I believe we have a special responsibility to take care of our city in between. The river is a fantastic place to visit. I love to cycle on the Jordan River Parkway Trail. These rides remind me how much our everyday actions matter.

Taking care of our river keeps it current!

I’ve joined the Love Your Watershed Mayor’s Challenge. It’s all about simple things we can do to keep our waterways clean and thriving. No big commitments, no complicated rules, just easy steps that make a real difference.

Here’s what we can do!

• First Friday Cleanups: On the first Friday of each month, take a few minutes to clear debris from sidewalks, gutters, or storm drains near your home or workplace. Quick, easy, and you’ll feel great afterward.

• Community Days of Service: Four times a year—September 11, January 18, April 22, and July 4 we team up as a community for bigger cleanup days. It’s an enjoyable, social, and a great way to support the places we love.

I see the impact when I’m out on my bike. When we all do a little, the Jordan River—and our whole watershed community benefits a lot! Come roll and flow with me!
