Permit Requirements

It is a violation of the City stormwater ordinance 8-11-7 for any person to make or allow to be made a new connection, or to modify or allow to be modified any existing connection to the city’s storm drain system without first obtaining a storm drain connection permit from the city.

The requirement to obtain a connection permit applies to direct connections to the storm drain system, such as a piped connection to a piped portion of the storm drain system, and indirect connections to the storm drain system, such as overland discharges to any part of the storm drain system.

Required Submittals

1. Submit a Grading and Drainage Plan that evaluates all onsite stormwater management measures to reduce or eliminate stormwater flow to the West Jordan City system.

2. Submit a BMP Plan (best management practices) designating specific BMPs the applicant will use to regulate, control, and facilitate discharges. The BMPs shall ensure that the quality of receiving water is not degraded by stormwater runoff and that the quantity of discharge does not exceed the designated capacity, or jeopardize the integrity of the storm drain system.

3. Maintenance Plan for storm drain improvements and post-construction BMPs.

4. Maintenance Agreement for post-construction BMPs.
